Depends what you count. Among pedestrian attractions, the glass bridge at Zhangjiajie in China is usually cited at about 300 metres above the canyon floor, and Sky Bridge 721 in the Czech Republic is the longest at 721 metres. On Thrillgrounds the highest floor is the Cabo Girão Skywalk on Madeira at 580 metres above the sea, and the highest suspension bridge is the Golden Skybridge in Canada at 130 metres.
The one without a handrail. On these grounds that is Auckland's SkyWalk, a 1.2-metre ring at 192 metres with only a harness, and Dubai's Edge Walk at 219.5 metres on the outside of a tower. Glass floors are the other kind of scary: Cabo Girão at 580 metres, the Icefield Skywalk at 280, the SkyBridge's 30-foot panel at Gatlinburg.
Only on the via ferrata bridges – Gjølmunne at Loen, the Nepal bridge at Mürren, the Norquay and Jackson Hole routes – and on the outside walks in Auckland and Dubai, where the operator clips you in. Everything else is a walkway with rails and a glass floor you can choose not to look through.
Most are: the Arenal hanging bridges, Capilano, the Gatlinburg SkyBridge and the Icefield Skywalk take all ages. The SkyWalk in Auckland starts at ten; the via ferrata bridges have weight limits (Loen 40 to 120 kg) and need a head for heights rather than a minimum age.
The Cabo Girão Skywalk on Madeira, the Mürren via ferrata with its Nepal bridge (bring or rent a set), the Thrill Walk at Birg with a Schilthorn ticket, and the Anakeesta treetop walk with park admission. The rest are ticketed and, where GetYourGuide sells them, listed with prices here.
On GetYourGuide on the date at the foot of this page: the Arenal hanging bridges from about $39, the Golden Skybridge about $36, the Icefield Skywalk about $37 on its own or $94 with the Ice Explorer, the Gatlinburg SkyBridge with the chairlift about $42, Capilano about $56 and the Auckland SkyWalk about $123. Dubai's Sky Views observatory is about €21; the Edge Walk itself is booked on site. The via ferrata bridges are guided routes at $150 to $250.
