Whitewater kayaking
Alone in the boat instead of six to a raft – the Soča is one of Europe's best-known kayaking rivers, with courses for complete beginners.

46° 21′ N · 13° 33′ E · Julian Alps · Ground 01
1,257 metres of air.
Then emerald water.
You're standing on the launch site on Mount Kanin. Below you the Bovec basin, a river in a colour you normally only see in brochures – and everything you can do between up here and the water. Scrolling means jumping. We show you every stop on the way down, with real prices and an honest rating of how hard your heart will pound.

Stop 1 · Tandem paragliding
1,257M OF AIR
The pilot says “run”. You run at a meadow that simply ends – and after the third step there is no ground left.
Honestly: flights from Kanin itself aren't on GetYourGuide – you book those directly with the tandem pilots in Bovec. Bookable online are the flights over Bohinj and Bled, about an hour and a half away by car.
↓ Above your pulse limit – keep falling

The cable sings before you see anything. Then the forest tears open, and under your boots there are two hundred metres of nothing.

Stop 3 · Summer toboggan · Straža, Bled
131M DROP
One lever between your knees, the lake and its island dead ahead – and the only question that matters: do you pull before the bend, or let it run?
Not bookable online. GetYourGuide has no ticket for the toboggan – you buy it at the chairlift's bottom station. We earn nothing here and list it anyway: it belongs to these grounds.
↓ Above your pulse limit – keep falling

Twelve metres sounds like nothing. Until you're sitting at the top, the rock is smooth as glass, the guide says “cross your arms” – and lets go.
There's a gentler version: the same stream has a family tour for children from age 8 (€64) – same gorge, lower jumps. Photo: the Great Soča Gorge, not the Sušec.

Stop 4 · Canyoning
12M SLIDE

Reaching the bottom doesn't end it. The water is exactly as cold as it looks, and beyond the next bend it gets loud.
↓ Above your pulse limit – keep falling
Alone in the boat instead of six to a raft – the Soča is one of Europe's best-known kayaking rivers, with courses for complete beginners.
Steel cable, iron rungs and wire bridges over a wild gorge – with a mountain guide, no experience needed.

Guided half-day trips from Bovec cost between €42.50 and €68 per person on GetYourGuide (as of Sept 21, 2026) – wetsuit, helmet, life jacket and the transfer to the put-in are included. The standard run from Log Čezsoški to Trnovo ob Soči is about 10 km of Class II–III whitewater.
The park in the Učja canyon has 10 cables with a combined length of about 4 km; a single cable measures 250 to 600 m. The cables run up to 200 m above the Učja river. The tour takes about three hours.
For rafting, canyoning, kayaking and the Učja zipline, Bovec is the base (454 m). Bled is about an hour and a half away by car (over the Vršič Pass) and has its own line-up: the Dolinka zipline, the Straža toboggan, paragliding, via ferratas. If you want both, split the trip.
